I asked if I could buy a bunch of pairs of shoes and return them in a few days if my sister didn't like them or they did not fit her because she needed some new black boots to wear back to school, and was told yes as long as they were not "worn". Totally reasonable. She tried a few pairs of the pairs on inside the house and neither fit, so I took all the shoes back. Shoe Dept insisted that two of the pairs of shoes had been worn OUTSIDE and refused to take them back--I was ASTONISHED. I now own two pairs of shoes that do not fit my sister or me, and which were not--to my knowledge--worn outside (though my best guess is that my sister walked on our wood floor in them?)... I guess my advice is never to buy shoes here unless you are 100% sure they fit and you will NOT return them. Do NOT buy shoes for you kid or someone else if you don't know that they're going to fit. There was a little dusty stuff on the bottom of the shoes I tried to return, but dusty-looking (to me), not like dirt or anything. I would not have noticed had the manager not pointed it out to me, and I don't know if it was there when I bought the shoes, but no one wore them outside when they were in my possession, so either it was from trying them on in a room with hard wood floor or carpet, or it was on when I got them. Just heads up. The "cheerful returns on unworn items" was definitely not true for me.
