I have had very different experiences here. You can find just about anything that you are looking for. Several people have posted about hours and people not answering the phone. This is not the hospital. It is connected but these are individual doctors and their practices. The main issue I have run into is how hard it is have open communication between doctors when dealing with one issue.
I love the professionalism of my Doc but the place is run like a government office. Short hours and NO ANSWERING MACHINE OR ANY KIND OF RECORDING.... I pay a fortune for Insurance and still cant get any help. Only places like this.
I have serious pancreatic problems. This hospital will treat you like you are the scum of the Earth. I was having pancreatitis on one occasion and the doc on duty was actually giving me .5 of dilaudid while lying to me saying he was giving me 1 mg. Another doctor inadvertently busted him. And then when I was having a flare up on that same visit, the nurse practitioner said the my lipase levels were normal and fine and instead of eating the broth they gave me I should just ate the jello. Then she immediately discharged me. The staff for the most part are liars and very unprofessional. There is some good ones. But I would highly recommend you bypass this place. Just beware.
I was here at 3am on a Sunday. I was in and out quickly but I wouldn't take my gold fish here if I were you. The woman at registration was rude and snappy. The triage nurse was kind and I felt she asked all the right questions. I felt like the doctor was in a hurry to get me out so she gave me some diagnosis to get me out the door. I had an allergic reaction at my dentist and was told to go to the ER if my symptoms got worse. I would say that heart pain, throat feeling tight and inability to open my eye is considered worse. The ER doctor tried to tell me that these symptoms are "normal" after having dental work. So basically she was trying to tell me that a practicing dentist of 20+ years who has done dental work on several people had to stop mid-procedure because of my allergic reaction. Yet these symptoms were "normal". I'm so thankful that it wasn't worse. It's just terrifying that people are being misdiagnosed and pushed to the side. It looks to be the case across the board.
I want to preface this by saying that I'm not one to quickly "judge" a medical facility. I understand the stresses involved and that people can make mistakes. Unfortunately, people's lives are affected by these mistakes. My brother was misdiagnosed with gastritis when in fact, his gall bladder was "the worst" his surgeon had seen in his 30+ years of general surgery. My brother was dangerously close to becoming septic because they misdiagnosed him... twice. Fast forward to my own issues with my pesky gallbladder. I had to see them three separate times for my gall bladder. When an attack happened, I didn't care where I went. I just wanted relief and I wanted it then. All three times the ER Doctor told me that it wasn't emergent... it wasn't time for surgery. I finally found a surgeon associated with Gwinnett Medical that would listen to me and look over my scans and labs. He took one look at everything and told me to go straight to the hospital for pre-op that day. Apparently there are stages to gall bladder trouble. I was almost to the tipping point of the last stage. I had JUST seen the doctors at Clearview the day before.
I feel as though this hospital has gotten complacent... not all, but mostly. They are quick to dismiss and they don't really listen. My brother and I weren't pill chasers, we needed relief, we needed surgery, and we were failed.
